I'm Dr. Fred Kleiner. I've been in private practice as a Counseling Psychologist since 1973 and as the director of the Relationship Center of Bethesda for more than 25 years. My interest and passion is in working with individuals, couples and families on relationship based issues to restore harmony, joy and satisfaction where it has been lost or covered up. I'm certified as a Mars Venus Counselor and I have been a friend and colleague of Dr. John Gray (Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus) for many years. In addition to my work with Dr. Gray, I have studied relationship therapy with Michele Weiner-Davis, (Divorce Busting), and Imago Relationship Therapy with it's founder, Dr. Harville Hendrix (Keeping The Love You Find). I am also trained in EMDR and EFT, techniques to assist clients in healing past traumas and associations that cause recurring pain.
In my more than 35 years as a therapist I have been an adjunct professor of psychology at the Union Institute and at Goddard College and I have also taught classes at both James Madison and American University. I am known for my warmth, humor, wisdom and down to earth approach in skillfully guiding men and women to a better understanding of their differences. I help individuals, couples and families to build and maintain successful relationships. I am especially adept in helping men understand what women want and need in relationships; and in having women learn how to communicate their wants and needs to men in ways that lead to fulfillment. In addition, I am deeply interested in helping people to access their spiritual selves. |
